Known issue: NW128046 – New Device Wizard labeling new volumes as manually_recyclable. Device Configuration Wizard silently creates all the volumes as Manual instead of Automatic recycle which is the traditional default option.
Notice that when right clicking on a volume from NMC – Media windows – Volumes – and select Recycle the pre-selected (default) option is Auto but it doesn’t mean that this is the actual status of the volume. To verify volume status run the mminfo command:
mminfo -q volume=<volume_name> -r volume,state,volflags
Workaround:
Note: Use this workaround for existing volumes as the code fix would only help with new volumes.
From the NMC GUI, go to the Media -> Disk Volumes view.
Right click on the affected volume and set „Recycle“ to Auto
Run nsrim -X from the NetWorker server CLI.
